In 2006 Laced opened its doors so this year we are celebrating our 12th anniversary. To mark the occasion we are releasing a collection designed by our good mate from Milan, FACE.
Born in Milano 1974, Andrea "FACE" Facelli has grown up in the second generation of Italian skaters that predated the current “street” phenomenon. During his numerous travels to New York and Los Angeles, he deepened his familiarity with this world living and writing alongside some of its most honoured writers, skaters and theorists. From that time, FACE became one of the first Italian artists to take part in Aerosol bombing, obsessively and copiously gaining presence in unauthorised spaces of all kinds. At the same time, he began applying his rigorous aesthetic to graphic ideas and fashion designs, which have a fusion of the classic style with the geometric highlighted by a fascinating and macabre romanticism.
He mixes the sacred and profane to create a magnetic and disquieting aesthetic which, paradoxically, owes its freshness to years of scrupulous research. Through the years he has collaborated with various international brands such as Nike, FUCT, Slam Jam and VLONE. His artworks have been acquired by different collectors such as Luca Benini, A$AP Rocky and Edwin Faeh.
FACE spent some time looking through his extensive book collection to research the number 12 in order to select the individual components of the collage. From there he selected images including the suit of armour, representing the 12 Knights of the Round Table, the scale of life and death with the 12 signs of the zodiac. When laying out the collage, he chose to concentrate the elements mostly in one area to create a strong visual impact.
The original paper collage was shipped from Milan, endured a broken frame on the way and now hangs proudly by the door at Laced. Make sure you check it out next time you visit.
This Friday the 21st of December we will be releasing a limited edition run of just 25 prints each signed, numbered and printed in Italy on ivory 230gr art stock.
We will also have a limited number of tees donning the collage graphic available the same day too.
FACE also put together a 12:13/AKA design which utilises symbology to commemorate the 12 years of Laced. Each element of the design is a visual representation of the number 12.

Below the 12 symbols of 12, we find 3 symbols of 13 representing Face13.
- Death is 13th card in the major arcana.
- 13 at the last supper. It’s bad luck in Italy to have 13 at a dinner table.
- Hades, the brother of Zeus and ruler of the underworld, was the 13th god.
