Launched in New York City in 2012, Awake NY is the brainchild of Queens native Angelo Baque. A reflection of the diversity that continues to define New York City’s landscape, Awake NY draws on a plethora of Baque’s influences to capture the spirit and sensibility of the five boroughs. Awake NY’s seasonal collections are informed by the eclecticness of downtown New York City in the early ‘90s, updated with refined silhouettes and domestically-made everyday basics to round out the wearer’s wardrobe. The brand’s collections grow each season, including the addition of tailored pieces that have become mainstays in recent years: sweater vests, overcoats and suits now anchor seasonal collections.
